Does the Seadoo Speedster create a good wake for boarding?
Does a 2001-2004 Seadoo Speedster create a good wake for wake boarding?|||no not at all. we use a speedster to teach noobs and to wake skate. you can clear the wake but only if you already wakeboard and the air will be minimal.|||yea its an alright wake. i went wakeboarding behind one a few months ago. its still pretty big like you can wake jump it easily. if you want it to be bigger you could just chuck a few fat sacks in it.|||Compared to the "big" name brand wakeboard boats the Seadoo will not produce the type of wake that a wakeboard specific boat will provide. The upside to a boat like the Speedster is that it will consume much less gas and you will still be able to progress your wakeboarding skills without all the added weight. A big wake is produced by having a lot of ballast, or weight, in the boat. The boat sits deeper in the water and thereby displaces more water producing a larger wake behind the boat when in motion. Wakeboard specific boats are designed with the primary goal being to be used with a lot of weight in them. The truth is, especially for beginner wakeboarders, is that technique is so much more important than having a huge wakeboard wake. I learned almost all basic inverts including backrolls, scarecrows, tantrums and even air raleys behind a bass boat. So bottom line is your Seadoo, while not producing a 3 ft. high wake like a Mastercraft X-star, will still produce a good wake and you will be able to perfect the technique in order to progress faster and become a better wakeboarder. I almost consider it an advantage because you don't have a "handicap" of having a giant wake that will inhibit you from having to learn the correct edging and pop techniques that will end up helping you much more down the road.
